The town of Gilford is an impeccable combination of small town ambiance and convenience. Thanks to its prime location on Lake Winnipesaukee’s southwest shore, it’s a quick jaunt away from both Concord and Boston. The Gilford Town Beach – for residents only – is said to be the best on the lake. And for non-residents, Ellacoya State Beach is the ideal spot to launch a kayak, swim, or just relax on a hot day.

Gilford is nestled in the foothills of the picturesque Belknap Mountain Range, a hub for an extensive trail system for hiking and snowmobiling. Closer to the water, Lockes Hill Trail is a popular walk with stunning vistas. And for something different, don’t miss Ramblin’ Vewe Farm. This local non-profit farm maintains a gorgeous network of trails for hiking and mountain biking, as well as an outdoor fitness course.

USA Today named Gilford’s Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion one of the 10 best concert venues across the USA. This 9,000 seat amphitheater hosts top rock, pop and country acts. Past performers include Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews Band, Darius Rucker, James Taylor, Pitbull and the Lumineers, just to name a few.

Gilford’s retail and dining scene is a mix of locally-owned treasures and larger chains. There is such an abundance of options that many residents from nearby towns travel to Gilford to shop and dine. Only-in-Gilford favorites include Patrick’s Irish Pub, Ellacoya Barn and Grill, and Sawyer’s Seafood and Ice Cream, to name just a few.

Families and kids of all ages love to visit Beans and Greens Farm in Gilford for the fresh farmstand, delicious deli, and fun seasonal events like an Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween Corn Maze.
